They are not made to last forever, but they could be. Any system made of parts that can be repaired or replaced in-situ can be made indefinitely renewing. Life is such a system. The Earth's biosphere is a proof-of-principle. Note the Imminst slogan: "Research for *Unlimited* Lifespans".People are less creative due to decline in mental function. Not much we can do on that subjects, brains just weren't made to last forever.
With respect to the subject of this thread, if technology is never developed to make brains and bodies indefinitely renewable, then nobody is ever going to get revived from cryonics. Reversing the damage of the cryopreservation process is a hundred times harder than reversing damage due to aging.
