It's a bit odd that hes trying to make money off what is clearly just Calorie Restriction... plenty of free information out there lol. I guess some people might have fallen for it though ?

His entire persona is generated around this mysterious image designed to increase income. He's engineered his position as a prophet, false as he may be. But, he's certainly not alone in that.

Although, I don't take exception with his anti-aging stuff as much as his 'manifesto'.

The way he comingles revolutionary politics and life extension IS pretty unique. Of course, there is always politicking involved in fundraising for research, but Elixxir is different. He kind of makes it feel like 18th century France or 20th century Russia, not SIGs lobbying the Senate circa 2008.

Questioning this guy's authenticity is fine, but I don't see the point in calling him girly and making (incorrect) generalizations about how Asians age. If this guy really is in his 50s, and the photo is unaltered, he looks MUCH better than the vast majority of people of the same age I know (I reside in Tokyo and Seoul so most of the people I see on a daily basis are Asian). Most people in their fifties here are dealing with major issues with pigmentation (solar lentigines for women, seborrheic keratosis for men) and laxity/wrinkling.

In all seriousness, the guy that looks like a girl is Asian so his/her skin is thicker than that of westerner hence it doesn't wrinkle. He only looks young (if that's really him) because he has a baby face. There's a lot of foundation and make up used in the below shot

At the end of the day he looks young. Whoopdedoo. Calling yourself Elixxir is just too much.

He is called Elixxir because he knows how to stir things up, to roil the turbid waters of life extension, so to speak.

Cool new forum tweaks, btw. :)
I couldn't access them for a few days and returned to find them altered.

Did you guys not see that he is trying to sell a 99$ "report"?

Scam.

everything about him screams scam. His picture is obviously photo shopped to all hell, he's wearing makeup, and it looks like he's had a face-lift or 3

Elixxir must watch interactive features like this one called Eating Younger on AOL and go crazy wondering how this guy, who looks kind of ok for his age (I think he's 62 in video clips), gets a spot on AOL as an authority on antiaging diets, further thinking, who cares that he's a doctor with awards and credentials if he is not a living example of his principles, and also noting that there are plenty of physicians in the world that most of us would never take nutritional advice from.

Posted Image

Possible reasons for Dr. Roizen's noteworthiness:
  • Happy, well written, researched, pop culture diet book with happy title: 'You: The Owners Manual'
  • Upbeat attitude.
  • Does not trash others in antiaging and diet field
  • Promotes product and principles, not himself, at least not overtly.
  • Proctor & Gamble feel to the presentation: well, that could be more AOL than Dr. Roizen, because he appears to be a bit more extreme than the mainstreamness of his books, websites and presentations would suggest. BTW: he is definitely a life-extensionist. Check out his Wikipedia entry for a quick summary and check out his well known RealAge site for more.
  • Cool, just mentioned, online antiaging gadget, RealAge
Daring, brash Mr. Elixxir, if you are reading this, check out this polished AOL wellness workshop feature and consider using it as a launching point for your own services. Definitely edge it up a bit (it's a bit too vanilla), but maintain the polish, multimedia feel, and interactivity, while linking to your own literature and personal trainer services, and from this develop a simple widget that you can embed right into your current site, then expand accordingly from there. Although I am not a marketing oracle, such an approach will almost certainly lead to some degree of success and acknowledgment.

For offline convenience, some of the workshop content is available here in pdf form.

Good luck.
Cheers. :|o

Elixxir update:

Not sure if this is wise strategy or not, but Elixir has redone his site as one of those over-abundant, long, single HTML pages with lots of bold face fonts, testimonials, and frequent links to the product ordering page.

Admittedly, his old site probably didnt get him one customer, but it was kind of unique.
This new version is just another a cheap book/serum/wondercream-hawking HTML page.

Bring back the original site! ;)

It's the best one yet. He should feature it.

Why don't this guy just release a high resolution video? It's not that I don't believe it's possible to look this young at 50... it's just the guy is making it harder on himself by using his current methods to win any customers. We have people on CR going on TV all the time, where is Elixxir? I imagine this is the kind of exposure he really needs. Someone from the CR Society has met this guy before, he did confirm that he looked young for his age but thats all I seen in the email on the CR lists.

I don't believe it. Two photos and anecdotal evidence from a dodgy website doesn't go well with me.

The most obvious thing hes got here is image blur on photshop, though many professional photoshoots use this tool. It's ok when not used much because cameras can sometimes be quite revealing because of the sharpness and seeing things you don't normally pick up with your eyes. though I think blurring has been over done here. Then the quesiton is, what other touch ups to the photo has been done?

If this guy is serious, is real, why hasn't he appeared on some major shows, on the news... a video would be good. I would guess that hes probably been to the imminst forums since hes so into immortality. As I said before, I don't think it is impossible to achieve something like below at age 52... but would probably take some serious CR from a young age and good skin care.

Seems his website is defunct. No mentions of him lately on the interwebs.
