CNN has updated its electoral vote totals to 199-78. NM to Obama, LA to McCain.

It'll likely be required in order for anything to get done. After this the republicans will be bloody, beaten, humiliated and have nothing left to lose so they will filibuster EVERYTHING that comes down the pipe.

Talk about irony the state that may *officially* decide the election for Obama may turn out to be Arizona.

Michael Savage predicted months ago that McShame would lose the election and would subsequently lose his seat in the senate, and probably never be heard from again.

Iowa just gave Obama it's 7EVs. It's over.

Virginia is fixing to give it's 13 EVs to Obama. Obama has taken the lead there now and it's at 80% reporting.

Per CNN, Democrats are 6 seats away from a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, with 10 seats still not having been called.

CNN called UT and Kansas for McCain, bringing the total to 207-95.

EDIT: By way of comparison, ABC News has it 207-135. The CNN total remains the same.

The last Republican Congressional seat in New England is gone. I actually prefer a check and balance in the legislature and I would prefer that the Dems don't get a filibuster proof majority.

BTW Biden won his Senate seat as well as the Vice presidential seat so he will no doubt step down. I am not sure if McCain will lose his Senate seat out of this.

I just checked, there is no Senate race in Arizona this election.

I think the difference that you see really sums up the mood of the American people in a nutshell for each campaign.

On one hand, you have a handful of people in closed room in Arizona of McCain supporters.

But on the other hand, you have up to "one million" people at a public park in Chicago of Obama supporters.

Calling TX & Arkansas for McCain, CNN now has it 207-135. This will almost undoubtedly be the last big jump in EV's for McCain.

It looks like FLorida, North Carolina and Virginia are going for Obama and that is 55 seats by themselves taking the total to 262 without California, Oregon, Hawaii, Washington and so on.

Our country is in a shambles right now. The last thing we need are some bitter wack jobs trying to toss wrenches into the works. Once the republicans prove that they can act like adults again then they can come back and play. Until then, they need to be taken to the woodshed.

Obama takes Virginia. He's back in the lead in Indiana now too. It's not a question of winning now. It's a question of how big the landslide is going to be.

Zenob, you beat me to the punch. As a former resident of Virginia, I can only marvel that the seat of the former capital of the Confederacy has voted to elect a black president. How times have changed.

Barack Obama is the winner.

Right now he's up to 324 EVs. He could still knock down another 31 EVs with Nevada, Indiana and North Carolina. It's a full blown landslide.

Well based on results I've see I'm ready to call Barack Obama the winner of this election.

I congratulate the Democrats, and all the people that worked their tails off to help their candidate win.

The results aren't what I hoped for, but I'm an American first before anything else. I have great fear and apprehension for the future of America now, but I hope for the best.
