Guys underestimate the role hair style plays in how we appear. Too many guys just think short, buzz cuts are the manly thing to do and thus take no chances outside of that. It's pathetic and I would say that limited perspective is another reason not alot of women are attracted to groups like this. In my generation women are increasingly more attracted to guys with longer hair-styles and who have no fear of being percieved as 'feminized' because the hair is (oh my gosh!) longer than 2 inches! They shy away from military cuts (understandably). After all, if men are suppose to be the more rebellious gender (according to many of you) why do so few show it on the outside? Fear!

In summation, I don't think the average guy is rebellious or cutting edge. I think he likes to convince himself in his own head that he is.

Hair harbors a lot of bacteria though and long hair takes a long time to dry. I prefer to keep my short but when I do grow it looks I have an untidy looking curly afro.
Many women do like men with short hair and sometimes even with shaved heads.

If I were to grow it long i'd want my hair follicles to be pumping out very *youthful* looking hair. I think that looks attractive but sometimes you don't want all that attention. Some men are aggressive towards other males for no reason than they either perceive them to be more attractive than them selves or they are just doing it to repress some level of same sex attraction.

I think it's more complicated than that. I think there is an unconscious repressed fear of homosexual tendencies that exist in many men thus the reason they overcompensate for this fear by trying to appear as masculine as they possibly can. Which is just a stereotypical estimation anyway. Who estimates what masculinity is? Since when has the shaved head look been synonymous with masculinity? Since when have a lot of women preferred shaven headedness? I think it's all bullshit. Men don't know what women truly want because men are too preoccupied with what they want. But I know for sure that women in my age bracket 20-25 increasingly prefer longer hair on guys.

And by longer hair I mean anything that is long enough to be stylized, not necessarily the hippy look.

Have you heard of flat irons for curly hair? Lots of women use them to get their hair straight, and they don't seem to be complaining of bacterial growth.

What about if a woman knocks back a sexual advance from a man because she has a suspicion that he might be gay?

Conversely sometimes a man doesn't make an advance on a woman because he thinks she looks a little masculine and might be a lesbian.

That does not make sense. If a guy makes a sexual advance on a woman, it's probably because he is attracted to her in which case he would not be gay (exclusively homosexual, maybe bisexual).

If a man is turned off by a woman's "masculine" appearance then he's not attracted to her, at least physically.

In other words, both of these situations won't happen.

Sometimes gay men have sex with women. Think about them as part male and part female (in terms of brain and body) but no female reproductive organs or the acronym PMPFNFRO. Women sometimes have sex with other women but (most of the time) prefer men. So a PMPFNFRO may be similar.

If a PMPFNFRO was raised as a male, taught that this society puts the highest level of priority on heterosexual production and is conditioned by the media (e.g. music, models, actors, porn) to find presentations of the female form attractive they might consider themselves to be hetrosexual. They aim to socially contribute to hetrosexual reproduction and thus identify as hetrosexual.

Perhaps PMPFNFRO numbers are increasing as our society becomes more feminized. More and more PMPFNFRO may be identifying as bi or pan sexual just as more and more women are.

PMPFNFRO also make very good workers. They will be less likely to be fighting the other males or trying to sleep with female workers or customers.
However, PMPFNFRO vs PMPFNFRO fights are considered hilarious and great entertainment.

They won't get pregnant and don't even have a menstrual cycle yet do will happily do many jobs that are usually associated with women and many that are associated with men. So there is no maternity leave or PMS to worry about. They won't even get higher testosterone levels as they compete with each other for child baring opportunities again because have have No Female Reproductive Organs.

Some PMPFNFRO are have more parts male and some more parts female so there is a type to fit any sort of job. They don't require as much remuneration. Many of them will be driving small electric vehicles that would be scoffed at today as "chicks cars" and they probably will be more likely to live in dormitories.

Dumbest thing i've heard in a while. This is why women don't frequent this site as much. Because there are a bunch of guys here who think they know everything about them, including the subtlties of their thinking processes and what they are attracted to.

I'll say it from first hand experience that plenty of women in todays world are attracted to feminine, or 'metro-sexual' guys. It's part of social evolution. You can't get any more condescending than that.

I don't think that's true. Women nowadays, particularly here in Australia are attracted to the stereotypical beer guzzling brick layer man who congregates with his mates at the pub watching the footy while talking about the latest 'chick' they nailed. I think metrosexuals or men in general who put health and 'hygeine' as a priority have been unfortunately affected by the stigma of being gay.

Sometimes I wonder why so many people are against gays??? What they do behind closed doors is their business. In fact sad to say I have never encountered a gay couple which is a shame because I'm always stuck on the bus or at uni watching some unattractive straight couple going at it with tongues. The guy is usually shaven, making him look like some juvenile delinquent in mourning. I won't even talk about the girl.....

I was talking to my dad one afternoon (he is 63) and he said that men actually used to carry in their pockets a MIRROR AND COMB. He said there was nothing wrong with that!!! Well dad have I got news for you. If you were a guy rearraging your golden locks nowadays you would probably be shot by the homophobic police. Men in the 50s had such great hair. It was so thick and shiny, a vision of health and virility. Greased hair looked so sophisticated and dangerous back then!

Pretty much every guy has some kind of buzz cut or military (you'd almost think people were being conscripted) cut. I say bring on the hair. Yes, I suppose you do have to wash it out once in a while, and there are so many products on the market that you can pretty much do anything with your hair...even if it is wild. Men these days are so insecure about sexuality. It defies the old stereotype that men should be strong, ruthless, unrelenting and determined. The feminist movement did so much for women, but men are still living in the dark ages.

My mother always said that you should live life by the bible so...
Longer hair = strength!!! Just look at good ole Samson from the bible. You don't need balls of steel...you just need hair...and a bit of faith in your hair stylist.

Stop speaking as if where you are is a microcosmic example of everywhere. There are plenty of places in which the dominant attractant of females is metrosexuality. You guys complain that most immortalists are men, well stop acting like you know every nook and cranny of a womans psyche and maybe they would appear here a little more. My girlfriend is attracted to me because I am not afraid of the stupid asses who think long hair=homosexuality. She is a model beauty that very few of these typical moron wannabe alpha male types could get within 20 feet of her without making her sick.

This topic is subjective and I'm just giving my side of the coin. I'm sorry if I offended you. Perhaps I'll change my post with the word 'some'.

Long hair isn't homosexual in anyway. The problem is what you do it. Ironing or straightening is what makes long hair appear to some people as gay.

So what if most immortalists are men? Im sure there are plenty of women who seek advice by reading forum posts.

This is the problem yet again. The notion that doing a god damn thing aside from simply washing your hair should give rise to the perception of homosexuality. And yea, you're right 'some' people think that. Because 'some' people are dumb asses. I am not trying to appeal to such people. Nor am I interested in their appraisal of my sexual orientation. And again, it is almost always men who conclude such things. Seldom do women presume me gay, in fact I think men might because they feel somewhat attracted to other men and are afraid to admit it. So they fall back on their subconscious homophobic/repressed homosexual tendencies.

Where did you guys get the ridiculous idea that long hair is associated with homosexuality, and that straightness is associated with masculinity? All the homosexuals I know well are pretty manly and have very short hair. Haven't you guys even ever glanced at gay porn :) , where the buff and buzzed look has been the in thing for years? In fact, long hair is so out of style in the gay community where I live that if you see someone with long hair you can be 99.9% sure that he is straight.

Well what's the argument for why we shouldn't make an effort to stylize our hair (which requires it to be a little longer)? Women have been doing it for ages, in fact, according to history, so did men before all this modern-day patriarchal horse crap started dominating peoples thinking about the typical male stereotypes. It is ridiculous that we live in a society where women can be in touch with their masculine sides without being considered lesbians but men who are in touch with their feminine sides are immediately held up for questioning. What the fuck is wrong with the western world?

I'm sorry but you are the one who introduced this topic. Women are the topic of interest considering the difference between heterosexuality and male homosexuality . Masculinity boils down to who gets the girl (crude as it seems). Yes we might not be experts on women like YOU (do you have a sixth sense or are you really a female out to prove a point??), however we draw conclusions from what we see day to day. This isn't about degrading women!

If you can say firsthand what some women want then I can as well and so can others. So don't berate me or others because you seem to be in the right.Frankly I think that question by Caston was valid considering some people don't want to invest time and effort into an intimate relationship that would end up in failure because the guy or girl is gay.

Is this attraction you talk about physical or merely a kind of fascination with a person they can relate to (androgynous features and mannerisms)? There are different types of attraction. Yes women are attracted to feminine or metro sexual guys just as SOME gay men are synonymous with a large circle of girlfriends.

That's a really good point! Do you think that all men and women are born bisexual and that environmental and soical pressures make people straight or gay? Is this inherent bisexuality some kind of biological mechanism in response to the world's drastically increasing male population or overpopulation???

No. Because it is based on first hand experience not a sweeping stereotypical statement. And I said that my generations females are 'increasingly' attracted to longer hair on guys, not all of them. Just many. I don't know how ld you are but perhaps if you are older and you think generationally you might not understand.
