I'm doing a presentation on telomeres and the current research revolving around aging and the lengthening of telomeres, as well as the risks (cancerous cells?). Could anyone point me toward some journals (or even a database of free journals)? I've been looking for a while, and I can't find any full text for free.

Thanks

One simple solution is to sign-up as imminst full member and, among other things, to access a fine resource sharing section where you can request papers.

However, the following search engine displays all available full text papers w/o much hassle:
http://scholar.google.at/

Wow, I've been traveling in the past week and haven't had a chance to reply. That google scholar search (.com for me) seems promising. Thanks a lot!

Try http://greenwdks.hos...longevity.html . Section (7) has a fine introduction to telomeres,
telomerase, and telomerase activators and
telomerase inhibitors in life extension medicine. There is a backup site at

Hi Jim,

Fascinating posts! Just the info I've been looking for - I see I have some reading to do...

An obvious initial question springs to mind - the answer may be in your articles already, but in the meantime, since human trials began in 2005, do we have any measurable results yet as far as telomere repair is concerned? Or has pinning down an effectively high dose proven time consuming?

Cheers, Adam
