I'm sure this is being looked at, but just to point out that unless there is a sudden groundswell in ticket sales it currently looks like you will struggle to break even.

Suggestions:
1) open the conference for short topic presenters and poster presenters
2) set an early bird deadline for the current ticket price, making it much more expensive to register late
3) try to get a sponsor involved

Yes, the response so far has been underwhelming. We'll have to step up the advertising.

Thanks for reminding me, I had planned to do the early bird thing to boost sales.

Sven, I think we could set such a deadline as a date that is arbitrary between here and there, say 28 days before the event, which would make 11/09/10. Do you agree?

Also, by how much? An extra €10 per ticket (viz, an extra €20 for the two days) seems reasonable to me. Agree?

Sponsorship - I think selling a primary sponsorship on eBay would be good (defining what advertising will be available). Does this need to be run through ImmInst's accounts? If so, I need to write the listing for for someone with access to an ImmInst eBay account (made for purpose if there is not already such a thing) to actually go ahead and list.

Caliban?

We have got an ebay account: "immortalityinstitute"
let us know what you want listed.

Not sure if it will draw a lot of interest purely on ebay.

I am assuming to mention it to all of ImmInst's present sponsors, and here on the boards, etc.

Will compile a listing and let you know.

Thanks!

Ok, I agree to make the tickets more expensive after 11/09/10. An extra 10 euro/day seems reasonable.

Great. Could you please send out a mass mailing of the below (or wording adjusted if you wish):

Hello!

Tickets for the Immortality Institute Conference, October the 9th and 10th are presently still being charged at the Early Bird rate of €25 / day (and a further discount is available to ImmInst members).

This message is just to remind you that the Early Bird rate finishes 28 days before the conference starts, making it the 11th of September.

After this time, the tickets will be €35 / day (with a discount still available to ImmInst members).

So if you're planning to attend but haven't secured your ticket yet, now would be an ideal time to do that.

If you have already bought a ticket, you need not worry about this of course.

Many thanks,

Eternally,

Done, changed euro sign by the word (it may be that some e-mail software is not displaying this sign correctly) and I also added a link to the conference website.
