Isn't cardio exercise itself an exerciseIll go ahead and say that long distance running is the best cardio in my opinion, and no i am not a long distance runner
from what I understand the human cardiovascular system is highly able to handle long distance running and that is a big part of how humans evolved, and no doubt i feel the best when I am consistently running, I wish I just woke up in a field everyday and had to run for 10 miles to get water and bring it back for my family for breakfast..ya dig?
in pre-industrial times if you did not live within close vicinity to water, there was no food, and you did not live...thus there was a LOT of walking and running

Probably some of the best things you can do are sports like basketball, water polo, paintball, etc., that involve vigorous functional, unpredictable, and varied movement. Other activities like hiking on uneven terrain also come to mind as beneficial.

The more effective cardio exercises for the fitness improvement are the jogging, running, swimming, cycling, and jumping a rope.
