Wheat Germ Agglutinin WGA
http://www.glutenfre...agglutinin-wga/

Summary4U:
‘wheat germ agglutinin’ (WGA) which is largely responsible for many of wheat’s pervasive, and difficult to diagnose, ill effects.,
WGA is a Lectin, though found in different concentrations in all grains, seeds, legumes, dairy and our beloved nightshades ...

Serum antibodies to wheat germ agglutinin and gluten in patients with dermatitis herpetiformis.

What i found the most interesting about this article also, is that it has concurred my long-standing positive view of gluten itself, because of it's beneficial effects on the digestive-tract flora,
if you eat a strictly Gluten-Free diet, then be sure to supplement with very good Pro-Biotics,
because if your good bacteria count goes down and bad bacteria up, it could lead to auto-immune symptoms...etc.

Effects of a gluten-free diet on gut microbiota and immune function in healthy adult human subjects.

Gluten-free not great for gut health

Everyone should read the 1st full article, it goes into some of the MOST interesting details that i have read in years !

It's a Must Know, especially for it's clear and evident links to Celiac Desease and gluten intolerance,
and the similarity of WGA to a Virus is most striking ...

Please spread the word, and let's get to the bottom of this and to the root of the problem,

Cheers !

The wheat protein gliadin is a big problem. It causes leaky tight jnctions that effect our blood brain barrier, gut, epithelial tissue, etc. It is very bad news to have large protiens such as beta-amyloid moving across membranes freely. Avoiding wheat is a tall order, you may want to consider taking the herb gotu-kola (active constituant asiatic acid), It decreases permability of tight junctions...good stuff.

Wheat Germ Agglutinin WGA

That funny my autoimmune stuff went away when I got of gluten. No more hypothyroidism, gas, dandruff, aching joints etc. I've don't take probiotics either.

Great read in the OP first link.

this is another great article by the same author:

http://www.greenmedi...erance-sayer-ji

after reading this, looks like lectins is the real deal, even though modern medicine is totally silent on that.

i benefit from gluten-free diet (if i can adhere to it, very hard), but i may need to look into eliminating lectins and not just gluten.
