Has anyone tried HCG injections for weight loss?

I tried Zeltiq CoolSculpting earlier this summer, but am not seeing significant results on my abdomen size 2 months later. This despite a good diet, Hydroxycut pills, and 2 hours of running a day.

A nurse recommended HCG injections, as they're only $200 a shot and apparently quite effective. However, looking online, they're not FDA-approved (which, in itself, doesn't necessarily mean much; I don't trust the FDA one bit) and there are doubts about their safety and efficacy.

I'd like to get your input. What does everyone think I should do here?

There are places to get HCG much cheaper if you go overseas. I have a vial of 5000 IU Pregnyl that I purchased for ~$35. I am not using it for weightloss but for post cycle therapy.

Thanks, Tornpie.

Anyone else? Is it safe? Is it effective?

Just lift weights 3 days a week, eat 1 gram of protein per pound of boday weight and eat enough calories so your losing 1-2 pounds a week. With those easy steps you will eventually get very lean.

You have to be on a caloric deficit to lose weight.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing, but no luck. I think I have hypothyroidism or something ...

How old are you?
What is your diet like? Details. Are you monitoring calories?
Two hours of running a day? How much is that in km? If you want to get, do HIIT, not jogging.
Whats your weightlifting regimen?

I am still on cycle. As for safety, it depends on the dosage and length of time. Too high of a dose for too long can possibly desensitize your body's response to LH and FSH resulting in hypogonadism.

Three other possibilities to restore proper LH, FSH, testosterone, and estradiol balance are letrozole, tamoxifen and mesterlone. Not to mention other aromatase inhibitors, selective estrogen receptor modulators, and androgens. Low dose letrozole spread out over the week seemed particularly effective in obese men. Here are some very interesting write ups:

I would advise great care when playing the hormone game. It may be very difficult to find a doctor or specialist that is knowledgeable about these things. Beyond sex hormones, there's also insulin sensitivity, thyroid, cortisol, ghrelin, and leptin.

Oops, never mind the mesterlone. Got obesity mixed up with male depression.

Your doing it wrong. Your probably not monitoring exactly how much you are eating.

I would also advise that you just stop running(or keep it to a minimum of 30 mins after a weightlifting workout). You don't need cardio exercise to get a six pack. If anything running two hours a day will cause you to lose muscle.
