So I had maca root powder last night and in the morning. I was much more tired this morning and have been more depressed today. I was wondering how long it takes for this to take full effect and if I should even keep going. Has anyone had any negative effects from Maca?

I've never noticed any effect from maca unless I took a very large dose. Then it made me irritable. I've never detected any impact on libido or energy from any dose. I still eat it from time to time (usually in chocolate) just because I like the taste.

Took it again today and had to lay my head down for an hour. Really makes me sleepy. I'll keep taking it at night though to see if it improves my sleep.

How much do you take? Why at night?
I have powder too.
After some days I find it stimulant, but I am not sure.
I read it is better cooked.

I like it. I wouldn't call the effects sleepy. It just feels like improved wellbeing with a slight increase in libido.

Wow weird you lot notice this effect... Maybe it's the high potassium content ... But I have never noticed such a thing with it.
