I'm from Northeast England, I've been a transhumanist for seven years and I've never came across another transhumanist. I've occasionally brought up transhumanist, immortalist and singularitarian ideas with others and whilst they seemed interested, even fascinated, I think they forgot about it the next day...

Northeast England, anywhere near Leeds perhaps? I'm a UK Immortalist (oh, ok, will be in two months ) We are moving there since my husband won a Fulbright Award to UK and will be at University of Leeds, we will at first be staying in Headingly and are looking at Rawdon and Horsforth (along with other areas in the north with nice schools and properties). I'd love to meet up with you Shahzad, I've talked to a few UK transhumanists (some I see post here too ) I'll be running a meeting in Leeds to see what kind of turn out we can get. I'll be at Sens4 the first weekend of September, and go to the London Transhumanist group at least once We don't know how long we'll be there yet, for now a year at least.

Hi I'm from the UK too! Down in the South West. I'm 24 and have been looking in the movement in the past year, I try to give what I can money wise, I can't do the science unfornantly. Is there much going on in the UK with the movement? I feel I should do more but find it usually not possible to bring up the subject it's all very frustrating when it seems to be an underfunded field. Not to mention as there isn't much government funding we rely on the rich and I don't know many rich people...

I'm not from the UK but I plan to move there for good within 1 or 2 years.

The UK is perhaps the most active country in terms of informal H+ meetings.

Hey UK transhumanist,
I'm based next door in Ireland and was wondering if I'm welcome amongst the UK Immortalists? It may seem like there is few humanity+ advocates in the UK but I'm stranded and alone here in the west of Ireland.

Yes, me in London. Only into the biology bit really. Having second thoughts about it all actually. It can all be very depressing and even treating depression doesn't seem to work. I am considering Alcor more and more (and reverting to chocolate and chips) only to be woken when age isn't an issue for anyone. We do live in an incredibly ageist society, and you don't really notice it unless you're a woman of 35+ as I am. Ideally I'd start another family in my 90's after having reached a few goals, lots of travel, languages, different careers and so on. The thought of hearing of the demise of so many is a bit off-putting too. You can drag a horse to water....I still know Christians (?) whom seem intelligent. It's horrible
