I am interested to know how much Resveratrol slows aging vs. how much it increases lifetime. Indubitably the molecule somewhat increases lifetime (it acts on the symptoms of aging, particularly after a certain age), but I am interested in how much it actually slows aging (e.g: How much does it enhance telomerase activity?).
Perhaps we could centralize and distilate evidence about effect on each of the many bio markers of aging and then trace the effective pathways (incl. potential pathways), in their entirety, id est not only at the cell level (or intra-cellular level), but also at the level of our entire organism in order to consider factors such as bio-avaibility, chemical interaction, and secondary effects, and update it as new research arrives on a single topic/chart.
I have no doubt a lot of information about this can be found from many sources, but I feel that organizing knowledge, analysis and research would make things so much more efficient and accelerate scientific advancement.
If some of us have the potential to participate/lead new research themselves (for those in the academia) this chart would also make it easy to investigate topics of highest interest/controversy and coordinate scientific efforts for efficient advancement in the field.
We could do that for many substances/conducts that are believed to interact with the biology of aging.
