Ok, a few years ago a friend of mine from when i was young(like 6 yrs old), had an aneurysm. its nearly killed her, but in the last few years she has improved exponetially!! relearned nearly every motor skill, from talking to tying shoes, to walking. she has improved working memory and recall from the time of the incident. for a couple years her doc had her on Risperdol and effexor, and 2 years ago she was taken off risperdol, and is currently just on effexor. she still has a horrible time with reacting to anything, memory and recalling things, long term and short term, and says she has some problems with some inhibitory processes, like controling anger and emotional instability. she is in Canada and im in MI, so i am not close enough to correspond with her if she was taking something more "research drug"ish, but i would like to share any info i can with her as far as vitamins/mineral/herbal supplementation that would benefit her. essentially things she could find in a vitamin shop so they come across as friendly to her/her family. as far as age she is 27 yrs old, and i believe she had the aneurysm about 5 yrs ago...its been a long time, and i wasnt in contact with her then.
I understand that aneurysms cause irreversible brain damage, but the human mind/body is an amazing creature, and capable of so much.
There are some seriously great minds here and i would very much like your help with this. any info is welcomed to, whether it is things she could ask her doc about(scripts, treatments), or diet, supplements, or coping strategies. Thank you in advance!
P.S. other than Effexor she is not taking any other substance, script, vitamin, mineral or otherwise
