Thanks for sharing your experience.

I'm experiencing diminished libido, but I don't know if I should put it on Resveratrol, although it is the one supplement that seems to coincide in timing with my shying mojo...

Its frequently used by weight lifters, as part of a recovery regimen, after a cycle of mild androgens. It has slight anti-estrogen effect in males, and helps preserve muscle integrity. While its not an aphrodisiac, it does increase blood flow. Resveratrol side effects usually disipate after a while. Ive found its best used, in cycles. I hope that helps you.

Depending on your dose of resveratrol you are taking i am aware that it can reduce estrogen too much and have a negitive impact on libido, so what dose are you taking and maybe try different dosages.

Resveratrol is a mild aromatase inhibitor, as such is thought by some to help prevent the conversion of testosterone into estrogen. Weightlifters use it for that purpose to raise testosterone levels, but there is no proof it has any effect outside of a test tube. The blood-level concentrations attainable are much lower than those showing anti-aromatase activity in vitro. Even if did, the body would likely respond by producing more aromatase, so any effect would be transient.

My wife and I supplement with 1,500 mg of Resveratrol per day for since approx 2007.
I saved documented COA some by HPLC of kilogram purchases of 98 to 99% Resveratrol.
Why does my wife run 4.40 miles in one hour every other day?
My knees are bad I can not do over 4.15 miles / hour.

It's not from increased testosterone, Res improves mitochondrial function, both in quality and quantity of mitochondria in muscle cells. Result: greater strength and endurance. Especially the latter.

What about the increase anaerobic capability?
My heart rate is very low under the 4 mile in one hour run workout.
I can run with a heart rate from 90 to 130.
If I look at the chart on the treadmill. This heart rate is not normal for the scale.
Unless I was 10 or 90 years old.
Maybe this is heredity or is the resveratrol expressing?

What effect did resveratrol have on your libido?

I do not notice any changes to my libido.
But, I think that Resveratrol helped me lose weight.
Made me look healthy.

shameless bump. I need more data!
i value my libido sooooo much that I have stopped Resveratrol --just in case-- until I 100% eliminate it from the list of suspects.

Thanks :)

No effect. Except for aiding weight loss, which might get you laid more.

It's a very mild aromatase inhibitor.

I've always had a high libido, and can still get an erection every day but i could only ejaculate every couple of days,
i started on 240 mg a day 3 weeks ago and over the last week it has gone back up to being able to ejaculate every day and increased my libido,

I think any potential effect of resveratrol on libido isn't through an effect on hormones but rather through its antidepressant effect. In my one brief experiment with high dose resveratrol it felt like an antidepressant to me, and it had the same effect on sex drive as an SSRI.

Biochem Biophys Res Commun. 2006 Jun 2;344(2):688-95. Epub 2006 Apr 17.

Inhibitory effects of cis- and trans-resveratrol on noradrenaline and
5-hydroxytryptamine uptake and on monoamine oxidase activity.

Yáñez M, Fraiz N, Cano E, Orallo F.

Departamento de Farmacología, Facultad de Farmacia, Universidad de Santiago de
Compostela, Santiago de Compostela (La Coruña), Spain.

This study investigated for the first time the potential effects of cis- and
trans-resveratrol (c-RESV and t-RESV) on noradrenaline (NA) and
5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) uptake by synaptosomes from rat brain, on 5-HT uptake
by human platelets, and on monoamine oxidase (MAO) isoform activity. Both c-RESV
and t-RESV (5-200 microM) concentration-dependently inhibited the uptake of
[3H]NA and [3H]5-HT by synaptosomes from rat brain and the uptake of [3H]5-HT by
human platelets. In both experimental models, t-RESV was slightly more efficient
than c-RESV. Furthermore, in synaptosomes from rat brain, the RESV isomers were
less selective against [3H]5-HT uptake than the reference drug fluoxetine (0.1-30
microM). On the other hand, both c-RESV and t-RESV (5-200 microM)
concentration-dependently inhibited the enzymatic activity of commercial (human
recombinant) MAO isoform (MAO-A and MAO-B) activity, c-RESV being slightly less
effective than t-RESV. In addition, both RESV isomers were slight but
significantly more selective against MAO-A than against MAO-B. Since the
principal groups of drugs used in the treatment of depressive disorders are
NA/5-HT uptake or MAO inhibitors, under the assumption that the RESV isomers
exhibit a similar behaviour in humans in vivo, our results suggest that these
natural polyphenols may be of value as structural templates for the design and
development of new antidepressant drugs with two important biochemical activities
combined in the same chemical structure: NA/5-HT uptake and MAO inhibitory
activity.

...meaning it killed your sex drive, correct?

whilst i can't comment on its effect as an antidepressant as I've never had a problem or needed them, so can't compare,
i can only say what the physical effects have been now i have been on them three weeks, which are not effects i had expected, as this is not something i had read about regarding the effects of taking Resveratrol,
I've gone from feeling horny nearly day but only being able to ejaculate every two days back to what i was in my 50's,which is every day, and I'm now 67
