Salutations,

I am pretty new to this forum, so if I posted in the wrong section then someone with powers please move it to the correct one.

I went to the ER for chest pain and difficulty breathing and it was said that I was experiencing palpitations, though they did not know what caused it.

I'm prescribed Adderall 10mg x3 / day // Sometimes I take one or two extra doses with my afternoon/evening dose, although I used to take double this dose once in a while when I was first prescribed.

I also take:
  • ginkgo biloba 240mg a day, spaced by one hour per dose before I go to sleep
  • 5 - HTP 100-200mg before bed
  • 750mg Niacin in the morning
I was having a tight chest for a few days prior to my trip to the ER and thought it was hypertension + high pulse (was 120-130), so I did some breathing exercises and was taking 480-600mg ginkgo spaced in 3 hours (I saw that it lowered heart rate and blood pressure from a few google searches). I noticed that it calmed my heart rate a little, but my chest discomfort was 100% still there.

Also, 2 weeks before riding an ambulance to the ER, I began to take 480 - 600mg ginkgo a day (saw on webmd that the dose for ginkgo for improving memory was up to 600mg) and 300-500mg of 5 - HTP (trouble sleeping, so I upped the dose).

It's worth noting that I've been on Adderall since mid April and have never experienced chest discomfort. I started the Ginkgo at the end of June (started at 120mg/day), the 5 - HTP I take on and off when I need it as a sleep aid or depression.

So, I ask you intelligent people which is more likely to have caused my heart palpitations? and is bayer aspirin safe to take to help treat, or ease chest discomfort from palpitations?

Thank you and Good Day,
Taha

Also, the 5 htp I am taking also has b-6 in it. Could it be that too much converted into 5-HT in my blood which then caused the palpitations?

try going off the adderall for a few days and tell us if the palpitations disappear. Do you drink coffee or tea?

I used to drink a lot of strongly brewed black tea before I got Adderall. Now I only occasionally just drink green tea in the morning (or at night), like maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

I've been having palpitations for a while now (couple of months or so). I feel it much more at night when I go to sleep. Caught it on an EKG as a PVC as well. In my daily regime I also have Gingko and Niacin. The past couple of days I've started having horrible pain every time I eat in my lower esophagus and sometimes when I breath deeply but not nearly as bad. I'm thinking it's an ulcer, but not sure if it's from something I'm taking or another reason.
