I've had some serious problems dosing Sulbutiamine(started a few days ago and it's my first nootropic). I'd add it to tea and honey, but can't go over 200mg of the powder in a regular cup of tea or I start having gag reflexes and a very unpleasant taste.

Anyone have suggestions on how to take Sulbutiamine? Should I just get a capping kit?

Also any comments on the drug itself and whether or not people are taking it is more than welcome.

Thank you.

Definetely capsule machine, the taste is too foul to be hidden by anything.

Am I out of the subject ? 200mg coated doses can be easily found (boxes of 60,eBay and elsewhere). You can swallow with any drink...

Yes, I'd just buy the stuff in cap form - not much more expensive unless money is a really big issue. If its your first nootropic I'd mix it with DLPA at 500mg three times a day maybe with 1200mg of NAC and some vit C. That has a real potent kick to it.

I suggest a capsule machine. Packing '00' capsules fairly tightly, I average about 550mg sulbutiamine/capsule.

I really think it's about how quickly you develop a tolerance to it which will happen eventually in terms of how often you could use it as far as how many actual hours it lasts I really wouldn't be able to accurately answer that.

I'd recommend buying already capsuled sulbutiamine from a vendor off of eBay or Amazon. You're going to need size one capsules for sulbutiamine, and a capsule machine otherwise. Sulbutiamine has a pretty nasty smell/taste and when I was trying to capsule sulbutiamine I was having a hard time because the powder is really...fluffy and hard to manage.

I take 2 200mg doses a day.

You get used to the taste, I've tried it sublingually but didn't really see difference.
I usually take it in the morning after breakfast, but yesterday I took it just before going to sleep just because I was curious and it was well worth it, I saw very vivid dream or actually more of a memory but mixed in with dream, it helped me remember some stuff from my childhood so thats nice...

Used to the taste? Hah... I'll have to go through a lot of suffering to get to that point.. interesting though I didn't know.

Interesting. I'm going to try that some time.

Thanks all for the amazing responses. Anyone else willing to share their Sulbutiamine experience feel free.

indeed the power is kinda weird, it seems impossible to flatten it totally and to anyone who want to put sulbutiamine in capsules, be prepared for the worst! it can make your work surface really messy and dry out your hands if you happen to get some on your hands.

Take a small amount of water, swirl your sulbutiamine dose in it to dissolve, and down that small amount of water fast. Don't swish it in your mouth or even have it stop in your mouth and wait for you to swallow. Just pour it in and swallow. You'll barely taste it and can chase it with more fresh water or other drink.

Better to mix it in some oil as its fat-soluble, I usually mix it on a tablespoon with olive oil.

true true! caffeine + sulbutiamine gives me an euphoric high but I prefer not to mix, caffeine makes me shake too much.
I've been using sulbutiamine in high doses for over a month and no tolerance has built up so far, so far so good.

Between 1000-1500mg, that's my spot dose, under that there's limited therapeuthic effect, over that there's no added benefit.
It's safe you can go up to 2000mg according to that story of the bipolar disorder patient who went "nuts" after taking 2g sulbutiamine a day.

Renfr caffeine tends to do that too me as well, and just about any other stimulant. For the longest time I was taking DMAA and having to deal with random panic attacks for just about no reason. I recall I took a 50mg dose once and had to drive through some rush hour traffic, I practically ran out of my car once I parked haha.

But you are definitely right, I wore gloves and a face mask for the brief time that I capsuled the sulbutiamine I take. That stuff gets all of the place, and you pretty much have to capsule it in a square box, because in a bowl it will just slide up and before you know it you will be engulfed in a sulbutiamine cloud.

I haven't noticed any tolerance to Sulbutiamine, but I believe I have read of others experiencing it. I typically do not take the sulbutiamine on weekends or when I am not going to school simply to avoid any occurrence of tolerance.

How much of it should I get to see if I like it?
I have the option to maybe get 5g or 10g would that be enough for testing it?

I would hate to have another supplement on the shelve that I dont end up taking.

I hope you mean for multiple doses. With Sulb you should be taking between 200-1600mg

I would recommend capping it. I don't think it is wise to take it any other way.

I tried wrapping it in tissue paper(because I was too lazy to make a batch of capped pills). I had about 500mg, and it came out of the paper into my mouth... not a fun experience to say the least.

Just buy some capsules and a capping machine. It is a small investment that is worth it.

The fact that in a single case study a patient had worsened symptoms is pretty irrelevant.
1) That person is obviously not neurotypical since (s)he is experiencing bipolar disorder.
2) n=1 means next to nothing

I would suggest sticking with Arcalion's dosing guidelines, seeing as they are a pharmeceutical company that produces the drug. They suggest a maximum of 600 mg daily. Anecdotally, sulbutiamine has potential for withdrawal as well as euphoric effects, so it is wise to use no more than is necessary. (I have experienced euphoric effects from it, which tend to make me very wary of any drug without an extremely well established safety profile - ie caffeine. Seeing as sulbutiamine seems to positively modulate glutamate, perhaps even glutamate release, excessively high dosages may be harmful - or not.)

Hi all - never posted here before so please bear with any breaches of protocol.
Guess I'm a bad boy because I can wash down just about any powder with sugared tea or a soft drink (non carbonated, hopefully a healthy one ;*p)
If you plan to take a nootropic for a while, they are much cheaper in bulk - agree with the person that said you can cap it yerself if you can't stand the taste. BTW, I thought I was hard, could gulp down ANYTHING neat, with a little water chaser....then one day someone gave me a secobarbital (Seconal, "reds") capsule and said, "bet you can't empty that cap on your tongue and then swallow it". Needless to say I accepted the challenge, and oh my goodness, it tasted like vomit mixed with ether with a dash of jalapeno peppers.....Managed to get it down, but never again, folks....I'll stick to nice tasting things like quinine or dirt from now on, ha ha ha ha!
NB: Am 60 yrs old, been taking piracetam, etc since the 1970's when you had to find a drugstore overseas that would accept money orders & mail it to you.....that's how I first experienced a lot of meds not available in the US......It's an incredible boon to be able to order N E thing on line, but of course it's a great responsibility my friends. My advice: Get one of those fire safes n keep yer meds in it. (Even sulbutiamine....who knows? It might be poisonous to babies or dogs or something). If your meds are locked down, there's less of a chance of an accident.
Just my public safety announcement for the day.....cheers.

I mix it (100-200 mg) with a tablespoon of olive oil. It's oil soluble and needs to be taken with fat. The taste is also not so bad that way.
