Hi all,

I've been supplementing for about a year and I think it's time to have my blood tested (I know... should have done it before starting)

I would like to have vitamins, minerals and a full hormonal panel. Anybody knows what are good resources for this in CA?

I can go to my doctor and ask them, but I doubt he/she will give me all I need. Also, am new in my health plan, have no idea how it works (as a matter of fact, paid for the plan this afternoon; I have arrived in the US a couple of months ago)

thanks.

Life Extension Foundation (LEF.org) offers blood tests economically, and at bargain prices even lower for members. My doctor's practice billed my insurance company $400 for a D25-hydroxy test that a friend got through LEF for $28. They send you to a lab such as Quest to have samples taken.

Even if your doctor may order a test, the insurance company is unlikely to pay for all the tests you want. My insurance (United Health Care) refused to pay for the D25-hydroxy test as "unnecessary". (On appeal they paid part.)
