I've been on longecity for awhile and I've searched long and hard for a straightforward thread where people have reported positive experiences with nootropics without success. Most of these threads are long-winded with mixed responses, reports of nootropics working for a very short period of time, and I come away even more confused than before. I understand that it's all about trial and error, and there are many variables involved such as choline/no choline, diet, exercise etc. but can we keep this thread simple anyway?

So for those of you who have seen gains from using nootropics, how long did you use them for, what stack did you use, and how did it help you?

Old good piracetam did help me to improve my language skills. I did study at the same time, I guess that also helped.

Been taking noopept for the last week or so. Definite reduction in procrastination and enhanced sociability. No particular benefits to actual 'intelligence' such as memory and problem-solving abilities as yet.

It's not negativity; when you're been on the forums for a while, you realize 80% of the threads are the same, and have mega threads already devoted to this topic. Search function

okay midpanther great you've made your point. This thread was going so well. There's also newer posters like snazzhands who haven't been a member on this forum for that long who I'd like to hear from as well if that's okay with you of course.

I've had success with Cerebrolysin and uridine (monophosphate). Uridine definitely provides immediate and noticeable effects after sublingual administration, the best way I can describe it is mental clarity, brain fog disappears and I can access what I wanted to access from memory more easily. With Cerebro, I came looking for a nootropic effect but stayed for the antidepressant effect, it is difficult to say if there is any strong nootropic benefit for me from Cerebro, but the it definetely enhances my quality of life.

I got interested in nootropics when I realized that the reason my memory and cognitive function went to crap because I was taking bupropion 150mg 2x day for the past 4 years. I went to go see my doctor about it and his answer was adderall, which I have to say really wasn't for me. I felt more focused, but at the expense of feeling like I was on drugs. The jaw clenching, speed feeling definitely wasn't for me. I decided to do my own research of the problem on the internet and came across this site which had introduced me into the world of nootropics.

I've been taking piracetam for about two weeks now and I've been experimenting with different doses, anywhere from 1g to 4.8g per dose, 3x a day. I found that the optimal dose for me was 2.4g per dose, along with choline bitarate supplementation. I haven't gotten the choline completely figured out yet, but I've believe taking 250mg with each piracetam dose is the right amount for me. I've also decreased my bupropion to 150mg 1x day and started taking ashwaghanda 450mg 2x day, lithium oratate 5mg 1x day, ALCAR 500mg 2x day and fish oil 1g 2x day.

As far as the effects go, I will say they have been very positive so far. Even though I decreased the bupropion, my mood hasn't altered for the worse in any way. In fact, my mood usually is better throughout the day. The focus is starting to come back and I feel that my thoughts are being streamlined and words come to my mouth without taking any detours along the way. My memory has also improved, it's by no means exceptional, but I feel that it's getting better everyday. The effects are definitely different than any of the prescription drugs I've taken. With those, I feel that the effects are there and immediate, but they only mask the underlying problem and as soon as they wear off, I'm back to where I started, but I feel like my brain has been taken for a ride. Taking my current stack, I feel that the positive effects gradually increase as time goes on, which is a great feeling. I like to compare it to while being on a diet or working out where you're making small changes everyday, but you know in the end that the change will be big.

Overall and I am thrilled at the positive outcome of the nootropics I'm taking now. I actually ordered some aniracetam and pramiracetam to give those a try. I haven't taken the pram yet, but I have tried the aniracetam. At first glance, I'm not that fond of aniracetam because it's made me feel fatigued and amotivated, which is something that I'm trying to avoid.

Bought almost all the main racetams in small doses a couple of weeks ago, including Piracetam, Prameracetam, Aniracetam, Oxiracetam, Noopept at the same time also got some Bacopa, L-Theanine, Ashwagandha, Choline Bitartrate, Gingko, Omega 3 caps and B12.

Intially I took a 6g dose of piracetam, 30mg Noopept and anywhere between 500mg-1g of all the other racetams with 1g of Choline, at the same time. I was expecting instant gratification and some major limitless experience, all I found was that I felt very tired, more depressed, experienced major brain fog etc, no benefits to report.

Then tried a similar stack adding more choline into the mix to see if this would perhaps alleviate the negative side effects and still found no change.

Then decided to stop taking them all aside from Piracetam, Noopept, Gingko and Omega 3.

Piracetam was actually the one I initially tired first and had great effects from 3.6g without choline so thats what im sticking too now, definitley noticed boosts in creativity, improved memory, alleviated mood, more energy overall, felt more socialble and generally focused.

Just got my new supply of Piracetam in the mail yesterday, but when it had run out I did try Noopept by itself at doses between 30mg and 100mg, cant say that I experienced very much with this, perhaps the anxyoltic effect was there slightly, slightly enhanced mood, but no major boost in creativity or mania as some other people have experienced on here.

I think will leave noopept in my stack for the time being at around 30mg, to see if this might have a long-term cognitive effect, but the main one for me definitley has to be Piracetam 3.6g in the morning on an empty stomach, no choline (dont find it a necessary addition, no headaches, brain fog etc), I also have L-theanine 500g which I find offsets the negative effects of the coffee I drink and generally leaves me feeling quite relaxed but still quite focused and at night I take 500mg Ashwagandha, so far this seems to be working well.
