We barely get any iodine from the propogandized "iodized salt," and it's BAD if the only (or most significant) source of iodine is dependant on a (moderately high) sodium intake. Not many people have access to seafood or kelp supplements in their daily diet. It's also possible that the halogens fluorine and chlorine that we consume through drinking water competes with iodine for absorption and, as a result, we get almost no iodine from any sources--an explanation for the pandemic deficiency.
