Is L-Leucine Safe?

Hi, I'm new to supplements and I need some advice about l-leucine LEF's supplements.

I'm considering buying LEF's Super Selenium Complex and OptiZinc, because my doctor recommended me to supplement selenium and zinc. What I want to ask is, does anyone know if l-leucine in supplements is safe? I found it's not allowed to use as an additive in EU and can be genetically modified? Thanks.
