Scientific evidence is taken very seriously at LongeCity.
Forum posts that include references to scientific articles merit not only attention but also positive reputation votes ()

'Real' scientific references are usually preferable to second-hand-sources from science journalism such as science daily or eScienceNews, but these can be quoted for context. Try to check your sources: if the journal is not indexed e.g. on pubmed it may mean that it is not a peer-reviewed study.
Avoid just pasting the entire article. Quote selectively where conducive to the discussion.

If you want to reference an article on the LongeCity, the best way of doing so is to use the little reference button ( ) in the second row of the posting menu. This will ensure the reference is consistently formatted.

Scientific journals are not always 'open access' - this can be frustrating to if you are looking for a specific piece of evidence.
Members have the option of joining a study group - partnering with someone who has access to an article. Members can post their requests for literature in the resource sharing forum. Most requests are answered within a few days.
