Since i've been hitting the Gym a little, working pretty hard at it, I thought I would start improvising with some creative ways of replenishing calories and protein and ask some of you to share yours.

Here's my idea for post work out.

Take 8 ounces of skim milk, mix large scoop or two of greek yogurt in with a Banana in a blender.

How does that sound? It would seem to be far cheaper than fucking around with whey protein powders. Plenty of potassium and about 25 grams of protein too. Much of it from Casein, and some from Whey so I am getting a good amino acid profile.

Anyone else have some ideas?

Not sure it is cheaper. Have you seen the prices of greek yoghurt? :)

Yes, I wouldn't be mixing an entire serving in, maybe half a serving. That would be 8 servings per container at about 3.50$ for a container. Whey protein is still very expensive compared to this. Plus I think, when building muscle maybe getting some protein from casein is a good idea?

Yeah, I dont think it matters where you get your protein from except to marketers and their instruments, e.g. fitness magazines and bodybuilding sites.

Well, I don't think it matters if it comes from a powder. But I do think it matters if the protein you are getting has a complete amino acid profile. So that's always been my main concern.
