Pretty simple topic of discussion: what mixes well with bacopa monnieri, in your experience? Only synergestic suggestions, minimal stack size please.

Aims: Cognitive improvement, memory retention, abstract thinking, contentness
Some other symptoms id like to treat: Hypersomnia, avolition, fatigue, lack of enthusiasm

background infos (on my particular case: im going to drop this here as suggestions, but id like to keep the topic of discussion on a broader level)

I have completed a 6months long treatment with 3x12.5mg day Tianeptine and since i got off it i feel much better, like my memory has been partly restored after it had been ruined by either mdma, fluoxetine or dysthimia (its arguable which one is the cause, id say 40%mdma, 30%fluoxetine, 30^%dysthimia). Before i got to the tianeptine i have tried a lot of other natural options, and i really mean a lot. I have more than a couple dozens half finished bottles laying around, not counting the ones i have consumed.

The ones that have impressed me the most were, in order, Bacopa monnieri, Panax Ginseng, Theanine.
The ones that did something but hard to nail it: Rhodiola Rhosea, Centella Asiatica, Gingko biloba, Sulbutiamine
The ones that have deluded me the most were, in order, Ashwaghanda (nonresponder), Aniracetam and Modafinil (made me feel strange and nothing else), Methylphenidate (made me more talkative but thats it)

Other interesting substances worth mentioning: Galantamine and Huperzine-A in combination with CDP Choline for lucid dreaming, I personally feel theres a strong and evident connection between my mental wellbeing and my ability to dream and remember the dream. Tianeptine was great in this regards, Fluoxetine too.

I've frequently seen Bacopa with Ashwagandha and Gotu Kola.

You should try Mucuna Pruriens, source of L-dopa. Will probably help you with mood, fatigue and lack of enthusiasm.

yes, i am actually taking it with gotu kola, both of them twice a day. I left out the ashwaghanda because the one i have from NOW foods is inactive for me
i wonder if the gotu kola could work interchangeably with gingko as they both are vasodilators.. maybe vinpocetine too.

thanks for the suggestion, altough i have already tried it and unfortunately it does not seem to do much.
I think that dopamine, despite how obvious the answer seems, might not be the problem

Today i have tried taking a pill of Tianeptine together with my bacopa and the result is a reeeeally neat anxiolitic effect. It is so pronounced that i will keep it in mind for the future.
Alltough, i feel the tianeptine dulls the mental clarity of the bacopa.

http://examine.com/s...acopa monnieri/

Goes Well With

I am currently using it along with 5-HTP, ubuquinol, UMP, sarcosine, and some others. I was using it with ashwaghanda but ditched the ashwaghanda.

"Many times, it is paired with the herb Centella Asiatica, known as Mandookparni or Gotu Kola. The pair is sometimes mixed in milk and drank"

And apparently, Brahmi refers to it as a combination along with Gotu Kola.

i do take it with gotu kola and a gram fish oil, which makes sense to me... I do not see why it would be good to take with milk thistle honestly? maybe heavy metals toxicity? ive read something along the lines "bacopa is a water plant and sucks in a lot of toxic metals". Ill try to find evidence on the asparagus, thanks for the suggestion

The examine article is referring to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Protandim

Yeah it does which is why you should take care to go for an organic supplement. I'm trying out Milk Thistle for my next cycle for the liver protection benefits, I also take bacopa, ashwagandha, cucumin and drink green tea so I guess I would be recreating that researched combo which the synergy effects are an added bonus.

I believe Bacopa tends to absorb a lot of cadmium, specifically, IIRC . Not as scary as other heavy metals but nonetheless a large concern. It'd be nice if companies did simple testing for such contaminants.
