Hi guy's,

I suffer from mild depression, low motivation and low anxiety. I tried a lot of stuff and I found that 5-htp, tyrosine and ashwaghanda help me a lot. The problem is that I read that all these nootropics can stop having an effect if I take them everyday. What I do now is I take each 2-3 days a week, so far I think I could go long term with this stack. But I wish I could take 5-htp, tyrosine and ashwaghanda everyday.

Here is all the supplements I take each week:

Everyday:
- Multivitamins
- Vitamin C
- Zinc
- Magnesium
- Creatine

Sunday, Monday, Tuesday night before bed:
- 225-450mg of Ashwanghanda

Thurday, friday night before bed:
- 100-200mg of 5HTP

Friday saturday morning:
- 1.5g of tyrosine with b-complex

On occasion:
- 2-3g of Kratom(Sumatra white vein)
- Weed (Helps me to produce music)
- 1.5 g of pheninut (When I go out. Trying to stop that)
- 2-4 Drinks (When I go out. Trying to stop that)
- 150-250 mg of cocaine (When I go out. Trying to stop that)

So here are my questions:
- Is there a big risk of that 5-HTP, tyrosine and ashwaghanda stop working if I start taking them everyday?
- If it is caused by tolerance what other nootropic can I cycle any of them with?
- If it is caused by a lack of other chemicals (for example other chemicals are needed to convert 5-htp into serotonin) which one are they and can I supplement with these?

Thanks you guys.

Hey man, well 5-HTP and supplementing precursors in general tend to not work in the long run since you don't really fix the imbalance to begin with, you just compensate it. I would not go for 5-HTP and tyrosine long term.

I use Ashwagandha daily, one dose morning and one evening. It has been studied long term as well and should be fine. You might lose effect a bit after awhile but then just stop a week and then resume. This is my favorite supplement and I use it for same issues as you.

I'm a fan of Kratom when used responsibly and not over consumed, great instead of coffee for productivity and mood boost. If you have problems with anxiety then you should cut out the coke and maybe even weed. For me weed tends to make my anxiety/mood worse sometimes and the following day of use also. I can only smoke heavy indica's that has a lot of CBD so try some strains like that.

Phenibut is like a benzo so useless long term to heal emotional problems, drop that to. Get some Kava for use when you really feel on edge, but try to go without. I would try Rhodiola Rosacea and see if that can help you, works like a mild SSRI and gives you some energy without anxiety (don't take to big doses). Maybe a combo supplement Rhodiola/Schizandra if you can find.
