Hi,
I've been reading longecity for over a year, and I've finally made an account. I've had brain fog for nearly 2 years now, and I have tried nearly everything to cure it. During this whole time i have had bad depression and anxiety as well. I have had many blood tests that all have come back fine (thyroid, metabolic, anemia, and even a stress test). I now feel it is up to me to find the cure, rather than a doctor.
Notes
-My eyes are very sensitive to light. It seems to go away when i'm outside on a bright day.
-I get very stressed and my brain shuts down with lots of things going on around me.
-I seem to become more anxious after eating things like eggs. I also found soy protein isolate, makes the brain fog and depression extremely intense.
-Calcium supplements seem to help with the anxiousness, but is not a cure.
-Fish oils seem to cure my brain fog as well; however, I get real bad anxiety on them.
Over the 2 years, I have found only one supplement that takes away the "brain fog" quickly, and that is magnesium taurate. The reason why I'm not cured, and the reason i'm posting here , is because it produces side effects. Several hours after taking several 100 mgs of it my brain fog dramatically goes away; however, I become depressed and jittery. I can't keep taking it because of this. Also, after several days i become extremely down and apathetic.
Does anyone here have a better understanding of magnesium (specifically magnesium taurate)? I've tried taurate and different kinds of magnesiums separately, and only magnesium taurate works for me. I feel if i can better understand what it's doing to my body, maybe I can cure myself.
Thanks!
