Hey everyone. I recently stumbled onto the concept of Nootropics and I was excited to see quite a few different options available for social anxiety as well as alertness/brain fog. However after doing my research I feel a bit overwhelmed at the plethora of options available and I thought I'd cave in and ask for some advice/help.
A brief overview of my issues:
• Brain Fog: I just find it hard to concentrate in general sometimes (I do some creative writing as a hobby and there are times where I really want to write but I just zone out/can't focus). I honestly never knew it was something a lot of people dealt with until I started reading up on it. This is actually my secondary concern though.
• Social Anxiety: I'm hesitant to label it 'anxiety' really, because I can function in public just fine. My main issue is becoming flustered when having to engage in conversation (I become hyper-self conscious, have a hard time speaking, mumble, get hot, etc.). The only way I'm able to enjoy myself in a social setting is to drink (not heavily, but not lightly either), and I'd prefer to explore a supplement route instead of having to become an alcoholic to function at a normal social level.
I purchased a few things based on my research, so here's what I'm taking so far:
Daily:
200mg of l-theanine
500mg of Niacinamide
As needed:
400-500mg of Phenibut (only taken one time so far)
I have a decent diet and I exercise regularly. If it's relevant, I'm typically not depressed (though I go through my low points like everyone else). I've been more depressed lately, but it's a direct result of my inability to socialize normally.
Based on my desired effect, is there a more effective stack someone can recommend? If anything I'm taking now is ill advised or worthless, I don't mind cutting my losses and starting over.
Frankly, I felt lost in the sea of information out there and could just use a helpful point in the right direction based on my needs. I appreciate the help from anyone willing to chime in on the matter. Thanks!
