Hey everybody,

I was wondering if anyone had a brain MRI to measure the volume of their amygdala or hippocampus?

Kind regards,

I have MRI brains scans from August 2013, November 2013 and June 2014.

But I dont know how to measure the Brain areas and didnt compared them anyway up till now to each other.

Btw, I´ve done between January 2014 and June 2014 about 14x10ml Cerebrolysin and one time 40mg NSI-189.

And of course herbals like Ashwagandha and Bacopa, but also occasional.

So I can see if there is something different.

Will post them in the Cerebrolysin thread, if there is a difference.

You may can also ask the OP of

I've never had an MRI brain scan, but if it's just a regular MRI, I don't think you would be able to calculate the volume of particular parts of your brain. I've just been informed by psychiatrists and academics that in Australia volumetric MRIs are not done outside clinical research settings. Which is a shame. I know from reading clinic trials that there are very many types of scans that are possible using nuclear medicine, PET technology, etc. They reveal all sorts of things about a person suffering from a mental illness, which could be valuable in terms of taking guesswork out of treatment, but they are not routinely available.

I've had two brain scans done before, unfortunately I wouldn't be able to tell you what type. One was while I was being 'investigated' as a child for a possible ADD/ADHD diagnosis. They hooked up a bunch of electrosed to my head and then got me to do some exercises while they did the scan.

The other was when I was psychotic, and honestly being in that state of mind don't remember much of the process.

Both done in Aus at anyrate. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

Hey mono!

What did you mean by "anyrate"?

Thanks!
