So I have been doing some reading and apparently, facial can provide some UV protection depending on the thickness of it. Apparently, a UPF of two seems to be achievable with a beard that is at least .4 inches long, and a 3.5 inch beard could give a UPF of roughly 20.
My question is, I am thinking about growing out roughly a half inch beard all around. Do you think if I went ahead and did this, and then applied something such as invisible zinc (I know nanoparticles and a lower UVA protection for the longer wavelengths) or If I applied a very strong chemical sunscreen on top of it with mexoryls and tinosorbs, that I would get better protection overall than if I only used those sunscreens on my shaved face? (I ask as well, due to the fact I am not sure how well facial hair can protect against UVA rays, and also, am unsure if the tinosorbs and mexoryls, or even nano zinc oxide will be deactivated/ineffective as they won't be actually touching my skin directly?
