Hello all,
First of all I did a short (2 month course) 30 mg per day of roaccutane 13 years ago (I'm 30 now) however back in the days this drug was limited only for serious acne so my doctor said 2 month course would be enough. I had mild persistent acne that was not responding to anything else. Anyway acne came back 1 month after now my doctor says it is because i didn't take the cumulative dose (at least 120 mg/kg)
Anyway for the last 12 years I tried to fix my problem naturally diet (gluten free, dairy free, low GI), supplements (a lot of them starting from vitaming D ending on nicotinamide riboside), antibiotics, topical retinoids, acne.org regimen, blue red light lamp and others. The only thing that helped was ketogenic diet but it only worked for 80% of my acne.
As for my acne itself it is only around my mouth, forehead and occasionally jaw line. Hard, painful, cysts. I'm 30 now so I believe this shit should be already over but it isn't. I did all the hormonal panels but the results came back in normal range. Same goes for food allergy panel.
What definitely breaks me out:
- carbs in every possible form and even smallest amount
- ejaculation (this may sound funny but it isn't)
This brings me to my last resort - accutane which I have successfully declined for the last couple of years due to the potential side effects. But right now I'm depressed as fuck and I have no other thing left.
So my questions are:
- what can I take with accutane to reduce the possibility of having bad/permanent side effects especially IBD and erectile dysfunction?
- is it safe to take accutane with imao (moclomebide)?
PS. I was diagnosed with maldigestion syndrome due to damaged villi in the gut but my gastrologist said acne is not really connected to this problem. Even though I have been on the gut restoration protocol for a year (l-glutamine + probiotics + collostrum) -- it didn't help at all.
Guys are there any more tests I can do to find my cause of acne (MRI / CT scan or whatever)? Or give up already and take this damn accutane.
