I'm on Escitalopram 10mg for depression. I know that it’s not safe to take Bacopa while on the SSRIs but I'm not sure about other ones. Could you tell me if any of the ones I’m currently taking are safe to be taken while on the SSRIs?

Currently, I’m taking:

  • Black Coffee
  • CDP Choline
  • Alpha GPC
  • ALCAR
  • Creatine
  • Whey Protein Isolate
  • Probiotics
  • Longvida curcumin
  • Kelp / Pottasium iodide
  • L-selenomethionine
  • Metafolin(L-methylfolate)
  • Swanson Activated B-complex
  • Zinc picolinate
  • Magnesium L-threonate / Glycinate
  • Vitamin D3
  • Vitamin K2 MK7
  • CoQ10
  • Fish oil

I’m thinking about adding:

  • Uridine Monophosphate (for Mr Happy stack)

Those are all fine. Just don't add 5-HTP, or MAO-A inhibitors like Syrian Rue.

Also be careful with stacking anything that inhibits NOS as SSRI's themselves inhibit nitric oxide production so using them with methylene blue would not be ideal.

St.John's Wort can not be used with them and some stimulants should be avoided; in particular phenylephrine ; the ingredient in cough syrups..and of course Coca alkaloids; like cocaine.

Kanna should not be used with SSRI's...

Other stimulants can be used with them , such as caffeine, beta-agonists, DRI's , a2-blockers such as yohimbine or rauwolscine..these are all fine.

Curcumin is MAOI

Alcohol increases serotonin

Coffee, but probably only above 3-5 cups

Physiological concentrations of several coffee components showed to modulate serotonin uptake. Among them, ferulic acid and 5-feruloylquinic acid showed to act in a competitive manner.[1]

Thanks. I still want to take Longvida curcumin so I'm taking the curcumin in the morning and the Escitalopram 10mg at night and there doesn't seem to be any negative reactions.

The guy was taking 400-500mg Longvida and had recently jumped from 5 to 10mg escitalopram, when his symptoms began.
He terminated his reaction with a 5-HT antagonist, cyproheptadine (also a histamine antagonist, kind of risky imo).  But at the same time, if you develop serious symptoms of serotonin, and call your doctor for help, likely he will instruct you to the emergency room for treatment.  So it's good to be aware of and monitor unusual symptoms, as they could be life-threatening.

I would be a bit careful with large doses of Same as well.

I dont know about escitalopram but I take 20mg citalopram and LEFs supercurcumin (i think its 1-2g a day) and never had any problems. Of course its good to know about possible side effects but dont let anxiety get to you. Good luck!
