Hello to all,
I have recently discovered the use of adaptogens and find they're a positive addition to my life. However I know many of these herbs are imported from China and are potentially contaminated with heavy metals, pesticides etc..
I'd like to know which brand do you use and why. Please understand this is about herbs only.
I have done some research and so far gaia herbs should be one of the safest ones. Jarrow, life extension, new chapter have been mentioned a few times as well.
Are liquid extracts safer thanks to how herbs are processed? Are extracts and standardized extracts safer (for the same reason) ?
Are CoA of any value or are they plain marketing strategy and obsolete safety evidence ? As far as I know no brand has its products tested by a third party.
Two examples:
I have used the rhodiola from therootofthematter, it is very potent and I love the effects of the herb (most of the time anyway). It is standardized to 3% rosavins and 1% salidrosides . Would there be a reason to ditch the product?
I was recommended barlowesherbalelixirs a few times (area1255), the guy provides a coa for each product and batch (on his website).
However the coa come from the manufacturer and were therefore made in China (a 12 yo could create them on Wordpad too).. He also carries an enormous variety of herbs.
Any positive input is welcome!
