Is there any issues regarding putting an astragulus extract into a base cream?

I'm not looking towards the cosmetics or anything just want to have skin stay the same. Just wanted to check if there's any reason it would be a bad idea or completely pointless before I try it out.

I'm most likely using a powdered extract. Seems straightforward enough to not go for a premade skin product.

Will it likely react with cream contents in a bad way?

I'm sure there's lots of other good things to put in but it's a start.

Typically when people make creams out of plant extracts they use tallow as the base.

As far as I know tallow is better for your skin than glycerin to begin with.

That's interesting.   I'm sure tallow has benefits.   Does it have a tendency to be comedogenic ?  I do like the fact that it's from natural fat.  :)

It shouldn't be comedogenic, I suppose it's close to sebum in composition. But you'd better ask someone more informed about cosmetics than I am.
