Hi.

I've been taking Ritalin and Modafinil for years now. Always suffered from the nausea/sickness side effect.

Always took that as a given, so only recently I thought about treating it with medication.

Since this is a particular type of nausea, caused as a side-effect, I don't know which one I should consider.

Does anyone else suffer from this?

Does anyone know of a known/popular/proven solution?

Thank you so much.

Have you considered a peppermint oil or peppermint water to calm your stomach? It should work, has few side effects and leaves you with good breath.

Interesting suggestion. Since it's a moderate sickness feeling that lasts throughout the day, I was looking more towards proper medication. However, I did read about ginger and peppermint. How would you suggest using oil/water?

Ginger and peppermint are both great for nausea. And personally, I prefer starting with things NOT made in a lab. And if they don't work, I move on to things that may work better.

What you can do:

  • Boil water with diced raw ginger in it, think 8:1 ratio.
  • Get some ginger tea and steep as needed.
  • Get some mint tea and steep as needed.
  • Buy essential oils of these 2 products and put a drop or 2 in a v-cap. The oils are a lot more potent.

Will try, Livewell. Thanks.

Since I'm already here, I'd appreciate some medical solutions if anyone known about dealing with this specific side effect of Ritalin and Modafinil.

You may wish to try this
http://www.sea-band.com/
Which stimulates pericardium 6 acupuncture point

However you may also wish to listen to your body that is objecting to what you are doing on some level.
For example, is low blood sugar, heart stress, liver stress, or something else being caused by that combo ?
Is it altering the gut biome? Causing gastritis?

IOW don't necessarily treat just the symptom. Just a suggestion.
