Do any of you guys have experience with Barlowe's Herbal Elixirs https://barlowesherbalelixirs.com/ ? I found the company when searching for SUMATRA PASAK BUMI 200:1 Tongkat Ali extract. Barlowes is a reseller of this prodcut and also sells products of his own. My questions are mainly in regards to his own products that he sells. 

 

After doing a little research online, it looks like Barry AKA Barlowe runs his business from his residence. As long as he purchases high quality raw materials and as long as he has a dedicated (clean and contaminate free) portion of his house for processing, then he may well be making products that are equal or better in quality than a larger company.

 

One issue I see with a company this small that it is probably cost prohibitive for him to do a reasonable degree of independent testing on the raw materials, so he is probably relying mainly on the COA for the raw material quality assessment. I do not know what type of FDA compliance is required for such a small company.

 

He ships his products promptly, packs them well, and bottles them in glass bottles which I like. It looks like he selling good stuff, but without lab testing the products myself, I have to trust him, and this is why I am looking for a little more information.

 

I doubt I will buy from other companies this small, but if this guy is legitimate, I may make an exception here.

 

I would appreciate any feedback or suggetsions anyone can provide.

I got a litte feedback from Barlowes via email...

 

not sure why you think I run the business out of my residence. I do use my residence as the office, but I manufacture under the name of Aphrodite's Apothecary out of a location in Jupiter which is now changing to a new location I just purchased in lake park, fl. Aphrodite's apothecary, my manufacturing company, is fda registered and inspected. I rely primarily on manufacturer COA's but do have my own hplc and do quite  a bit of in-house testing as well, and I purchase from top-notch gmp certified companies. That's all the time I have - sorry, things are very busy. You can check my reviews on EBAY - Barlowe's has been selling there for almost 8 years.

The only other informaition I found on both "BARLOWE'S HERBAL ELIXIRS LLC" and "APHRODITE'S APOTHECARY LLC" was on the Florida department of state division of corporations site at http://www.sunbiz.org/
