I'm 22 years old Male and have been suffering on and off depression for the past few months. It has really been interfering with my daily functioning in life so I decided to see a psychiatrist. Specifically it has been impairing my motivation levels and also my desire to socialise, and I generally feel unhappy. I plan to go for talk therapy as well, so hopefully I won't need it again.
My doc was really insistent on Brintelix. I had done some research on Wellbutrin and I had initially asked for that. But she said that Brintelix improves motivation, concentration as well as memory. So I opted for Brintelix. However I saw that Wellbutrin has no sexual side effects and may even improve libido. So now I'm kind wondering if I should have insisted on Wellbutrin. I could always change anyways.
Anyone have any experiences with Brintelix? Any sexual side effects? She said that I will need to take it at least for 6 months. At first I wanted to take it for just 1 month but she said that would not be feasible.
Also can I still drink with Brintelix? Forgot to ask her about that.
This is my first time on anti-depressants BTW.
