this is weird. i never have problems with sleep and last time i was awake past 3AM was over 10 years ago when i was addicted to onlime gaming (anyone remebers Battelfield 1942?).

now, i'm not just awake but fully awake and mentally active just like in a middle of the day, not sure what will happen tomorrows at work after this.

the only thing i did differently today was taking sublingual methyfolate 0.4mg in the PM (6PM to be exact). I take it on and off because it makes me wired and jittery while taken all the time together with my big vitamins and minerals stack. normally i would take it in AM and the only reason i took it today at PM was i was tired at work more that usual (had a large meal with lots of proteins and some gluten night before) and i was not taking methylfolate this week at all.

the weidest thing was I took benadril at midnight and made me even more stimulated, usually it works as sedative and sleeping pill for me.

any ideas?

BTW, i just took melatonin and going back to bed.

Here's a hint to what could occur on benadryl: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/18227744

If there was something in the methyl folate that interacted with and elevated your cytochrome production, maybe something to do with the amounts of donated methyl groups that comes from the methyl folate when metabolized in the body, that could explain why you didn't get sedated this time. Have you done a gene analysis to confirm the MTHFR polymorphism?

Interesting info. I'm actually slow CYP2D6 metabolizer and usually benadril works for me.

But, here is what happened the next night, i could hardly sleep again and this time i didn't take methylfolate nor benadryl, so it's not that.

The best i can figure out this is what happened 2 days in a row:

I was tired at work and took gingko extract (60mg) in mid PM, then I drank coffee at home after dinner (i do that all the time), then i had some strenous excersize and then no sleep.

I'm fairly new to ginkgo, i didn't realise it was so powerful (probably due to the whole stack).

Okay. I haven't reacted that hard to Ginkgo myself, but that could be crux. Try not taking one day it or just taking it in the AM?
