I've been taking zinc for almost a month, we'll call it 3 weesk.  Mainly for mood- and testosterone-boosting properties, as well as stem-cell function, tissue regeneration, the contraction of the heart and the integrity of the arteries and veins.  It's also good for a shitload of other stuff, which are too broad for the narrow confines of this post.

Especially my predominantly plant-based diet, I thought it would be well to offset the high copper:zinc ratio I had observed in my nutrient tracking.  Having conquered a moderate zinc deficiency, I've definitely noticed systemic benefits (e.g. cognitive and making my eczema less, not sure if it's because oral zinc is effective like topical in Desitin or just from lowering stress in general), but I've also had a few peculiar sides.  Including, obviously, a metallic taste in the mouth for an hour or so.  But also a more concerning state of salivation and nausea.  It certainly would not be a pleasant way, but my god, I'm sure if you chugged the entire vial of zinc you would be a goner.

Anyways, just the last two days I've had these specific problems.

Is my body not excreting it properly, or what's going on?

The amount in question is 15-25mg diluted in about 500mL of spring water.  I effectively chug it (having severe ADD, you wake up late for work and have to do everything at the speed of light).  The packaging does suggest breaking the dose up into 3-4 chunks and taking it with food, but that's not so easy for me.

The salivation and tummy ache start within 5 minutes and last about 20.  The higher 25mg lasts a little longer, and may be accompanied by some mild dry heaves and more significant drooling.

I'm also taking it with 100mg liquid magnesium (I'm having trouble hitting 400mg through diet alone), but I think the zinc is the culprit.  These supplements, both produced by the makers of "Concentrace", also supply a bit of boron.  So anyone looking for that would only have to suffer half an hour each morning through rabies-like symptoms.

its definitely a combination of tea and zinc.  either on their own is insufficient to produce the nausea.  but when combined it's pretty severe, not even ginger helps.  i think the salivation is sertonergic and somatic.

my solution was to drink the tea a little earlier on and give it time to pass, and also not chug the glass of Mg & Zn water.  rather chug half of it, wait 30 mins, then chug the other half.  this reduces the load.  i still eat a light breakfast after (and a heavy lunch)
