I would like to talk more.  What nootropics do that?  These should be things that are good for people or neutral.

Be careful with abusing the word "nootropic" as it has very specific criteria that only a tiny amount of chemicals can fit.

As for what increases verbal fluency, lemon balm instantly does it for me. Not only that, but it makes my writing more coherent. I guess it's sort of the same thing.

Agreed. It seems anything that is psychoactive gets labeled "nootropic" these days...

As for the original poster's question, piracetam ( the classic nootropic ) is known to increase verbal and written fluency. It's one of its most reported effects.

Piracetam, yes.  Bacopa too, but unlike piracetam it's weaker, more semantic than syntactic and less phonetic than semantic

I only tried piracetam a handful of times, but I wouldn't recommend it with bacopa.  You may inordinately improve your word recall or you may exert yourself so completely as to wind up out of bounds in the existential no-mans-land of pure thought thinking itself..

Maybe galantamine and huperzine too? There are some reports of them being useful for verbal fluency. Lemon balm does help a bit and so does ashwagandha, but my favorite is Piracetam.

I would say

P21 Nasal Spray

NA Semax Amidate Spray

Bromantane (Stimulation and anxiety relief)

Coluracetam and PRL 8-53

In my anecdotal experience (I have tried maybe 10 or so things that commonly are referred to as nootropics or purported to be as such)

methylphenidate - mostly increased speed of speech

cerebrolysin - generally better

noopept - increases perceived recognition of verbal speech and its meanings, which was quite interesting

as for the rest I either can't recall, it was trivial, or mixed results

I would say nootropic ingredients like Bacopa and Huperzine and be a major help in increasing verbal fluency. Look for products that contain these 2 ingredients and you'll be good. I personally use Nootrolux Brain Boost to help me supplement the nutrients i lack.

Sulbutiamine can help, starting with a low dose.

Cerebrolysin did increase verbal fluency for me. Also Cere is something that lasts. Not just a short boost. So it is a good investment for people who wanna perform longterm.
