Okay, this may be another stupid idea but amongst all of the people we have here, I'm sure that we have oodles of talent. I know that we already have art projects on the art team but maybe some sort of competition where people have to make a short film/animation/song for the cause. Of course there would be some sort of incentive for doing so whether that is points or simply their piece being chosen as part of the official Longecity campaign.

I don't know who the heck would judge this and I doubt we could get Simon Cowell even if he has expressed an interest in cryonics. I thought about the idea when watching the following animation. Although it's not about aging as such, the ending could be interpretted that way. Imagine if we could get something as amazing as this to help promote the cause?



This idea is possibly in the same category of "out there" as getting a tattoo ad for Longecity but I thought I'd share just in case.

Think about what type of media might work best. Traditional art (painting and sculpture)?. Digital art? Audio (best song about immortality/life extension)? Video? Literary?

As far as the literary category goes, we did have a short story contest a while ago. I would say it was a moderate success. Poetry this time around?

As far as digital art goes, Zoolander started a thread a while back with images about life extensions and anti-aging. Can't find it right now. Maybe brokenportal can find it. It was pretty cool.

We could have all categories but I was thinking more a video that can be put on You Tube and a song. Someone a while ago mentioned us having a viral video and I figured that such a contest would be a great way to encourage people to actually attempt to make stuff like this. Basically we need to come up with ways to get people who wouldn't normally come upon the concept of life extension to sit up and take notice.

We could also have a performance category for an act that could also be uploaded but the catch would be that it must have something to do with life extension/promoting the cause. So this means no dancing dogs...unless of course your dog is wearing a Longecity shirt and performing something related to aging and curing it.

I think that the art/literary/sculpture categories would be good but I think hat they wouldn't draw people in as much as a video that could be e-mailed/linked to. The winners would be chosen for an ad campaign for our cause and as for a song, perhaps downloads could be used to raise money for the cause?
