Initially, when taking noopept(20mg), I get enhanced vision, better ability to do complex tasks, etc. after 1-2 hours this changes into sleepiness. This condition continues to stay the same till the next day, I need more sleep, etc...

Choline (cdp-choline, up to 1g tested) helps with this, but it does not feel like this is the only thing missing, in short, it does not make me feel 100%.

After I stop for a week or so, I get the normal effect again, until I get depletion symptoms.

For me the question is - what else could be missing? Any ideas?

I can exclude:
b vitamins up to 50mg each,
folate up to 400mcg,
b12 up to 1000mcg,
vitamin c up to 1g/day,

catecholamines in general (due to mucuna pruriens seed powder trials in various dosages)

uridine,
epa, dha in sub 300mg dosages/day,

This helps, but not to 100% percent:
cdp choline, up to 1000mg

currently I am running another trial with noopept 20mg, after I was still tired from the dose yesterday, plus 250mg thiamine. No cdp-choline, as I have run out.

All trials are noopept sublingual.

As dar as I know, the effects of racetams are mediated by catecholamines overusage. Nowadays, haven't found an explanation on why some people gets undefinite effects from racetams while others lose it after a while.

Probably raising catecholamines supplements, exercise and meditation could help the problem, but I merely think, is not exclusively an adrenal matter.

If it is just a matter of lowering catecholamines, the effect would have to be HUGE, since I did not see success by raising mucuna pruriens seed powder dosage to 2-3x my normal dose. But if noopepts catecholamine lowering properties would be that strong, I would have felt other signs then only being tired (i.e. restless leg syndrome, adhd symptoms, depression in my case, but I have not).

I was also thinking along the lines of adenosine. Maybe noopept boosts up the brain so much that it does try to protect itself by increasing adenosine. But that does not make much sense either, since coffee has limited effect, and I would *assume* that if noopept is indeed neuroprotective, the brain would not need to protect itself by raising adenosine. It would fit the symptoms of high adenosine perfectly, though.

Or maybe 1g cdp-choline simply was not enough. This would get expensive.

I have tried 250mg thiamine, without much success. The first 1-2 hours after taking noopept and thiamine, I was awake and focused, but it progressed to the same sleepiness. Unfortunately, I have missed my midday mucuna dose today, so the test was not a good one.

I'll try again tomorrow...

At this point I guess my main theory is the following:
If the side effect is being tired, or for any other side effect, try a good choline source.
If that does not help, reduce dosage until the side effects are gone.
For a mega boost effect, that may only last 1-2 hours, dose higher again, but don't dose higher chronically...
