I had read with interest the beneficial effects that people were getting with C60oo, and was especially interested in the increased stamina at the gym.  So, I made up a batch and started taking 1.5/2mg day.  About the same time I started taking it, I began having some brain fog.  I didn't really connect it to the C60, because I've struggled with brain fog off and on over most of my life.  After a couple of weeks taking a daily dose, I took approximately 30mg at once, with the idea that I would begin dosing every two weeks.  The brain fog increased exponentially, along with a constant dull headache that I just couldn't get to go away.  It was awful.  Made me basically useless at work.  Even then, I didn't necessarily connect it with the C60, because I had not read about this happening to anybody else.

The headache and brain fog dissipated about two weeks after taking the large dose.  At this point, I was beginning to suspect the C60, but I wanted to be sure, so I waited a couple more weeks and then took a smaller dose of about 6mg.  The brain fog and headache came back, but this time only stayed for about 3 days (which perhaps makes sense given the smaller dose).

Can anyone think of a reason why C60 is doing this to me?  Was it doing me actual damage?  I wonder if this strange interaction is in some way related to my methylation defects (I'm compound hetero for MTHFR) or the fact that I'm APOE 3/4.

Is it doing actual damage? I would be surprised if it isn't, so I'd stop immediately. I'd also add your story to this thread--C60 Toxicity Concerns and anecdotal reports.

So, I made up a batch...

Are you willing to detail how went about making your batch of C60-OO?

(Where did you get your C60, what was its purity, what did you mix it in, how did you mix it?)

Have you tried just taking the olive oil by itself?  Experience the same brain fog?  Some olive oil on the market isn't olive oil, or may already be rancid.  Try a swig by itself and see if the effects are the same or not.

What source & purity of C60 did you use for your "batch"?

There were also reports of aches and pains when using impurer percentage levels of C60, or when using C60/C70 combined fullerene sources.

I noticed that game6 is (or was) taking 500 mg niacin. I wouldn't' combine that with C60, as I had a strong negative reaction. It gave me a statin-like feel for a week.

I used the 99.95% stuff from SES.  I ground it using a mortar and pestle, and then mixed it in approximately 1.2 liter of Kirkland Signature Organic Extra Virgin OO, which is supposed to be very high quality.  I use that OO all the time and in a lot of stuff, and I've never experienced a negative reaction.  Anyway, the mixture turned dark red within a day or two, but some sediment remained in the bottom.  I added another .3 of OO and shook daily for a couple more weeks.  There was still a little sediment in the bottom after all of that, so I filtered that out with a coffee filter.

Turnbuckle -- I was taking niacin for my cholesterol, but I quit some time ago because I read that it isn't good for people who are undermethylators, which I almost certainly am.  I'm taking very little in the way of supplements right now except a multivitamin and some extra methyl folate, B12, and TMG.

Strange. I have also used SES 99.95% C60 and I also get very noticable sediment on the bottom of my jarr even after 2-3 weeks of contious stirring and at concentrations as low as 25mg C60/100ml EVOO.

Game6, I also have the same experience as you have. I take it and a brainfog comes in. Although when the brainfog is gone, my brain works very well, as if it has been "cleaned" up. Also other aches in my body go away and it has a lasting effect it seems.

I am also not sure what it is, can it be a Herxheimer effect, due to the C60 killing off lots of bad microbes??

All the best,

Andre

It sounds to a similar detoxifying effect that I experience when fasting from time to time. That said I can't recall noticing brain fog while on c60 but there might be some sense in feeling 'cleaned up' because c60 is thought to soak up mitochondria ROS and mitochondrial ROS damages lysosomes. Although there is a paper showing NAC demonstrated an autophagy inhibiting effect. Still not many have reported brain fog while on c60 (that I've noticed)
