Which skincare should I use? I'm also acne and scar prone. Someone says I really need to get on to using Retin-A/Tretinoin daily, but I only want to use natural products. I know that Retin-A is inherently natural as it is Vitamin A, but it's still synthetic.

What foods should I cut out? Apart from caffeine and sugar.

Which particular exercises to do - is running good? Or does exercise invariably speed up physical/skin aging?

"Natural" products aren't superior to synthetic ones.  Retin-A is one of the few actual proven anti-aging ingredients.  There is no "natural" product that comes close.

What foods should you cut out?  Basically anything unhealthy.

What exercises should you do?  Anything that will get your heart pumping.

There is no superior food or exercise for anti-aging.  All anti-aging is, is basically maintaining a  healthy lifestyle.  That doesn't sound very interesting, but it's true.  Anti-aging is just basic healthy lifestyle stuff:  Eat a healthy diet, exercise, get enough sleep, etc.  On the flip side, anything unhealthy is pro-aging.  Poor diet, no exercise, lack of sleep, too much sun exposure, high stress levels, etc.

That is not true, high intensity interval training has a connection to mortality for instance. When it comes to food you could write a bible but tl:dr version is to stay with vegetables, lentils and nuts, maybe throw in some periods of low calorie and fasting.

^^ it doesn't  matter which type of exercise, as long as you exercise, period.  As for diet, everyone is different.  We're all built a little differently.  As long as it's healthy diet, you're good to go.

Thanks!

Does anyone here actually use Retin-A/Tretinoin? Is it really OK for young skin - like, it's not "too much too soon"?

The thing I have with synthetic products as opposed to natural products, is that chemicals would be liable to age the skin. Just like cleaning chemicals (dishwashing liquid, washing powder, bleach).

I've been using Retin A for 1 1/2 years now. I started when I was 29. I had mild acne and beginning crows feet around the eyes. Wrinkles and acne improved but my pores look larger now. I started with 0,05% and later used 0,1% which may have caused the problem. I went back to 0,05% and hope I can fix the pores.

You are really hungup on the word "chemical" and clearly do not understand its true definition fully......... Dishwashing liquid would obviously be bad for as it contains compounds that would be toxic if consumed, but a studied, tried substance such as Retin A that has been studied and showed to be nontoxic in recommended dosages.......

Yeah almost everyone here uses Retinoids. And sunscreen. Without at least daily sunscreen your daily antiaging efforts will be futile........

"natural" is not better just because it is touted "natural".......... burning hot lava is "natural", you think it would be healthy to throw that into a smoothie?

I'm wary of sunscreen as well. That's full of chemicals. There are natural ones with zinc but I find them too heavy and oily, and my skin is already on the high spectrum of oily.

So all you suncreen fanatics - do you cover up your arms and legs as well if you're wearing tshirts/shorts? Do you recommend a particular brand? Is sunscreen really safe for you? Because all those chemicals it contains are basically being fried on top of your skin when you're in the sun. Some of the ingredients are suspected carcinogens as well.

Like someone else mentioned, you're still misunderstanding the term "chemical".  You're incorrectly assuming chemicals are bad and toxic.  The fact of the matter is, nearly everything in this world is made up of chemicals, including yourself.  Water is a chemical too, ya know.   And so is zinc.

The notion that sunscreen ingredients cause cancer is a scare campaign and it has been repeatedly debunked by professionals.  You should be worried about what the sun (the biggest carcinogen of all) will do to you, rather than what sunscreen (very likely won't) do to you.

Don't worry too much about the type of exercise. As long as you are doing something a few times a week that gets your heart pumping and makes you sweat you are beating back the aging clock. Eat a "balanced" diet and try to stay on the lighter side of BMI.

Invest in rejuvenation research. That will pay-off A LOT more in the long run.

You live in Australia for gods sake at least wear sunscreen. Sunscreen and Retinoids are by far the two most effective items; everything else trails by a long distance.

If you can't get over the word chemicals then I seriously doubt anyone here can help you.

You have fallen victim to the word natural. Go enjoy your natural UV radiation and lead.

Who's the smart ass tagging my posts with 'Ill Informed' and 'Pointless, Timewasting'? What have you got to prove? Does it make you feel better about yourself doing that?

More to the point why did the website editors feel the need to add this feature to the forums? It just encourages trolls and sockpuppet-like behaviour.

I will go ahead and get my sunscreen and retinoids, then. It doesn't take much to win me over. I know deep down I am hooked on the 'natural' phenomena that's sprung up in the last decade.

I don't understand. Do you mean to suggest I do some research about rejuvenation? Or buy shares or something in rejuvenation research?

There are plenty of fundraisers held for rejuvenation research. Here at LongeCity, SENS research foundation, Methuselah, etc... Even a small donation is better than nothing.
