It is absolutely worthwhile to buy the cheap stuff and get it tested. I would not trust the high cost vendor either. An independent assay is obligatory. Get one gram, assay, get 10 grams, assay. The result is cheaper than 1g of the high-end vendor, and 1000x more reliable. The other weak link is the anonymous organizer.
In general, anyone anonymous will just take the money and run. Escrow is the only way, when dealing with anonymous.

Suggestion: Participants fund an escrow account to be disbursed only upon success, and delivery of receipts. Organizer gets a 10% finders fee.

The situation right now is that cost-efficient purchase requires a 10g batch synthesis, and we are waiting for 3g worth of buyers to come on-board.  I was forced to back out due to force majeur, but I think the group is a good one (unlike most).  

Thankfully I found a combo that is working for me for now, so that my forced back-down from participation in the 6HNK buy does not create an untenable situation.  Specifically, I am using 20mg tianeptine sodium, 8mg PRL-8-53 and 6mg coluracetam, all t.i.d., and it keeps me from falling off a cliff lo the past 4-5 weeks.
