Interested in ~1-2mg/day for neuroprotective purposes. However, there seems to be so much variation in how much is safe for each individual. Also, I habitually take NSAIDs which may increase lithium serum concentration. Is there a way for a consumer to get a blood test to monitor lithium levels without doing the whole thing with a physician?
Blood test for monitoring low dose lithium supplementation?

There is no reason to get blood tests or otherwise worry over taking a mere 1-2 mg.

The concern with NSAIDs increasing lithium levels mainly applies to when you're taking large doses of lithium, as in the case of bipolar disorder....
That being said, it's a good idea to use NSAIDs as sparingly as possible.
