Hi!  I'm new around these parts.  I've recently been getting into nootropics and supplements to help with my anxiety, adhd, nervous stomach syndrome, and depression.

I am currently taking prescriptions for this: Adderall 20mg XR and 5mg Adderall early evening, Nortriptyline 150mg (I'm a fast metabolizer), and 2mg Intuniv.  This has been the regimen for many months.  The difference these meds have on my life are amazing, but the response is incomplete and I still have a lot of anxiety that wears me down and holds me back.  And the nortrip fixes my nervous stomach syndrome 100% and fixes my allergies too  :)

I've been taking 5 htp for the past several weeks with a moderate amount of success.  It's not quite enough.  I'm thinking about talking to my doc about an ssri.  She mentioned lexapro as something to try before, but I wanted to try therapy first which lead to minimal positive results.  I understand zoloft is also a good one to use with nortriptyline.  If anyone knows anything about the subjective differences between those two ssri's, I'm all ears.  Naturally, I'll let the doc know about the 5 htp so I know if I need to stop taking it for a number of days before starting an ssri or maybe even if I could cross-titrate granted that's unlikely since there aren't any medical guidelines on that one that I know of.

I also take fish oil, and a zma product before bed.

For both anxiety and nootropic effects, I was thinking about adding theanine and aniracetam.  I've tried both on their own with a small degree of success.  I was wondering if they synergize well together.  I was also wondering if bacopa might be better either in addition to or instead of theanine.

I know popular wisdom says I should take a choline source with aniracetam, but I have found that taking a choline source other than what's in regular food is terrible for me.  It leads to terrible anxiety with looping thoughts of the worse things I've gone through in life, mild paranoia, and intense despair.  I also get awful stomach discomfort and even pain and intense headaches.  This happens even with something that's supposed to 'mild' like soy lecithin.  Huperzine makes me totally dysfunctional and all my energies have to be spent just calming myself and away from people.

I have a very physical job where I lift, carry, and toss 20-60lb boxes and sacks 40 hours a week and I do mma 4-5 hours a week, 1-2 hours of heavy bag work outside of mma class, and I do resistance training 2-3 hours a week.  I know it seems like a lot to some, but it's taken many years to build up to this level of physical work capacity.  I'm just throwing this in there to let you know that exercise is covered.

I get 7-9 hours of sleep each night averaging at close to 8.

Thank you for taking the time to read any of this and your responses!
