PERSONAL EXPERIENCE LAST TWO WEEKS: I developed episcleritis i.e. the white part of my eye became very red. 10 days of alleve AKA naprosyn (recommended by ophthalmologist) mildly improved things, but my sclera was still very red. Within 2 days after starting high dose proteolytic enzymes* the redness was dramatically improved and after 4 days, the redness is almost gone.
These enzymes don't treat the cause of the inflammation, but are very effective in reducing it and in the past I've had very good results using them for everything from e.g. fractures to people who've just had surgery.
*The key is taking them on empty stomach (30 min before or 2 hours after food) and taking them in divided doses throughout the day. I took 3 caps 4 times per day which is more than label recommended, but I discussed with the company and they agree with my doses.
No commercial interest, and there are probably a number of brands that would work.
