Glassy

I went to a lot of new places today.  Went to a new restaurant.  It wasn't for me so I went looking for a Vietnamese restaurant.  Surprisingly, there was one a half block away in an industrial area, tucked in between industrial type businesses.  There was no parking so I kept going.  I arrived at a large sporting goods store and they happened to have their own Vietnamese restaurant in front.  They have Vietnamese dim sum!  I didn't get a chance to try any but I might come back.  I pestered the owner with ingredients questions.  He might have thought I was annoying or he might just always be that abrasive, or he might be part Chinese.  I went into the sporting goods store to get some things I've been meaning to buy for a long time.  I got one of them, but at least I tried.  The help was helpful, so that's good.  I went to a beach park I don't normally go to.  I found a place where you can sit in the shade near the water.  The water was glassy.  You could see coral, rocks and seaweed only a few inches below the surface.  It was evocative, like you were looking at a city from the air.  There is something there.  Then I came here.  I had some ahi, rice and a salad.  Wish the portions were larger, still hungry, but otherwise it was good.
