A few years ago it looked like I might not be alive that much longer. I purged my possessions. Among the missing: a trove of hairdressing supplies; clips, a dye bottle, dye brushes, gloves, a plastic cape, shower caps, elastics; everything you need to dye hair at home. Also gone; hair swatches from years of dye experiments. These are the only things I threw way that I really miss. Less important were my diaries, two vintage typewriters, and a pile of scavenged electronics that I never hooked up. Replicating the effort that went into gathering the hair supplies looks daunting. Ever tried to buy stuff from a beauty supply store without a license? That was an adventure.
