South of South Street

I did everything I was supposed to do . . . but I ended not where I thought I would be. I dotted i's, crossed T's, and covered stuff, but it all went south, ironically, half a block of South Street. The mood was one of agitation, cultural conflicts, and two unbendable wills coming together. It went downhill from there. Nothing was to be gained from going forward. The insurance company involved was also annoying me and wasting my energy. They are a very strange operation. They always seem to make things more complicated. Every time I deal with them it takes all day. Their rates were low, they had no complaints, they are local and a hundred years old. But they are too user--unfriendly. I had been going to spend the rest of the day in my favorite bookstore but after that I had to drive to blow off some steam. Ended up somewhere else. Delicious reading day didn't happen. All those juicy books. Went to a health food store and got some food, then came here. I feel calmer. I am trying to move on.
