There were rock stars on public access TV where I live. I turned on our local version of CSPAN. There was a government hearing, the usual set up, then the camera took in, a major rock star. Whot? Took a minute to process it. He was there, in the local government headquarters, to testify on a law he was trying to pass, with his lawyer. On the other side of him was another rock star. They have homes in this region. They did well, and the bill is being well received. They were shockingly well-behaved. Written testimony was submitted by a a number of famous names. For once, the whole panel of lawmakers was in attendance; no empty chairs.
